STILL NO REPLY FROM WATERS
According to sources close to David Gilmour, as of today (14
September 1997) Roger Waters has neither accepted nor declined
Gilmour's invitation to Waters to join Pink Floyd for the 1998 tour.
While refusing to confirm that Waters has been invited to join the
tour, Pink Floyd's management (EMKA Productions/Steve O'Rourke) has
stated that they are "looking at options." The band's management said
they are "at least six months away from anything being confirmed."
When MTV recently asked EMKA about the rumors of a Floyd-Waters
reunion, EMKA gave an outright denial that anything is being
arranged. MTV has a very rock history with both Pink Floyd and Roger
Waters.
It is important to note that Gilmour did not invite Waters to appear
on the forthcoming Pink Floyd album. Also, the invitation was only
for the 1998 tour, and not an invitation to become a permanant member
of Pink Floyd again.
Further news will, of course, be published here as it become
available.
